The Master is the second cycle of the LMD system. It takes 2 years, organised into 4 semesters, and follows a Licence (or an equivalent recognised diploma).
Master programmes in Algeria are generally organised along two orientations: academic (préparing for research and doctoral studies) and professional (préparing directly for the workplace). Which orientations are offered, and under what conditions, is decided by each faculty for each programme.
Admission to a Master programme is generally based on the student's Licence results and, depending on the programme and the number of places available, a review by the faculty. For current conditions and programme lists, faculties are the authoritative source.
